Product Overview

T551, as a benzotriazole derivative, plays a clear role in enhancing oil performance. It effectively inhibits the catalytic oxidation of oils by metal ions—either through the formation of an inert film on metal surfaces or by chelating with metal ions—thereby improving the oil's antioxidant properties and suppressing copper corrosion, significantly extending its service life. Due to its shorter molecular chain and higher nitrogen content, T551 exhibits remarkable synergistic effects when combined with antioxidants such as T501, enhancing the overall antioxidant performance. It is widely used in lubricants like HL universal machine tool oils and steam turbine oils. However, given its strong alkalinity, it should be kept away from acidic additives and ZDDP formulations to prevent potential reactions.
