Product Overview
T551 is a liquid, oil‑soluble metal deactivator derived from benzotriazole, exhibiting excellent copper‑corrosion inhibition. Its primary function is to chelate metal ions or form an inert protective film on metal surfaces, thereby effectively suppressing the catalytic oxidation of oils by copper and other metal ions and significantly enhancing oxidative stability and service life. T551 demonstrates remarkable synergistic effects with a wide range of antioxidants and is widely used in applications such as HL‑type machine tool oils and steam turbine oils. It should be noted that T551 has a relatively high alkalinity; during blending, direct contact with acidic additives (such as ZDDP) should be avoided to prevent adverse reactions.

② Outstanding synergistic antioxidant performance: High nitrogen content, with a pronounced synergistic effect when compounded with antioxidants, thereby extending the service life of lubricating oils.
③ Film-forming protection on metal surfaces: Forms an inert protective film on the metal surface or chelates metal ions, thereby preventing metal oxidation.
④ Avoid acidic contact during blending: With a relatively high base number, direct contact with acidic additives (such as ZDDP) should be avoided during formulation to prevent adverse reactions.

① Industrial lubricants: gear oils, hydraulic oils, compressor oils, steam turbine oils, and HL general‑purpose machine tool oils.
② Automotive lubricants: engine oil, gear oil, and transmission fluid.
③ Metalworking fluids: cutting fluids, grinding fluids, and forming fluids.
④ Lubricating Grease: industrial lubricating grease, automotive lubricating grease.
⑤ Specialty oils: transformer oil, fuel additives.
